Arnold M. Kneitel collection of mylar photographs
Arnold M. Kneitel (1923-2012) worked for E.I. du Pont de Nemours & Co., Inc. in sales and corporate information. He worked on sales of mylar when it was introduced in 1954. The collection consists primarily of 35mm slides of displays, advertisements, and presentations on mylar, including its use in electronic equipment and, primarily in magnetic tape for information processing equipment.
Centennial Exposition photographs
The Centennial Exhibition of 1876 celebrated the one hundredth anniversary of American Independence. Held in Fairmount Park in Philadelphia, it was the first major U.S. world's fair. The collection consists of eight photographic prints with views of the 1876 Centennial Exhibition buildings and grounds.
Cities Service Oil Company "Dealerama" album
Cities Service Oil Company was an oil and natural gas company formed in 1959 after a Federal Court mandated that Cities Services Company divest its holdings as a result of the Public Utility Holding Company Act of 1935. A souvenir album from the first annual Dealerama, a trade show held by Cities Service Oil Company to encourage service stations to increase their advertising. The trade show was a two day event in January of 1959 that took place at the Hotel Statler-Hilton in New York. The materials in the album are primarily photographs of exhibitions or booths that demonstrate a varity of products. There are a small set of materials that were laid into the album.
Claire G. Ely collection of Maytag Corporation records
The Maytag Corporation manufactures home appliances, most well known for its washing machines, also produces dryers, dishwashers, cooktops, refrigerators, and ranges. Claire G. Ely (1905-2004) was an employee of the Maytag company for forty one years. He worked for the Kansas City Branch and then was transferred to Newton, Iowa upon his promotion in 1952 to Manager of Product and Market Planning, eventually becoming Vice President of Marketing. This collection consists of materials collected or created by Clare G. Ely and includes biographical information about the Maytag family, historical information about the Maytag company, and documents the career of Ely from Branch Manager to Vice President. The collection includes press releases, newsletters, bulletins, newspaper clippings, correspondence, reports, pamphlets, photographs, and certificates.
Dayton Display Fixture Company grocery store displays album
The Dayton Display Fixture Company manufactured and sold grocery store display equipment. Headquartered in Dayton, Ohio, the firm operated between 1919 and World War II, selling metal shelving and refrigerated and electrified fruit and vegetable displays. This collection consists of a single album containing sales sample photographs that show product and floor displays for grocery store fruits and vegetables and dry goods in the 1930s.
DuPont Co., Carney's Point parade float photographs
E.I. du Pont de Nemours & Company is a chemical company more commonly referred to as the DuPont company. The DuPont Company's Carney's Point plant began manufacturing guncotton and smokeless powder in 1892. Francis “Frank” Pierre Gentieu (1876-1950) was a ballistic Engineer at Carney's Point from 1901 to 1941. On October 10 1925, a military, civic and industry party parade concluded a three-day celebration of the 250th anniversary of the founding of Salem, New Jersey. This collection features two photographs of the DuPont Smokeless Powder Works float entered in the 250th Anniversary parade in Salem, New Jersey.
DuPont Company Atlantic City exhibit photographs
E.I. du Pont de Nemours & Company is a chemical company more commonly referred to as the DuPont company. The company was established in 1802 and began with the production of gunpowder. Throughout the 1900s and 1910s, the company shifted its focus away from gunpowder production and towards chemistry innovations. This collection contains twenty photographs of DuPont Company exhibits and exhibit areas in Atlantic City, New Jersey in the Chalfonte-Haddon Hall, as well as exterior views in the vicinity of the Hall and views of the boardwalk at North Carolina Avenue. Chalfonte-Haddon Hall was a hotel and convention center that had its start as two Quaker boarding houses built in the 1860s.
DuPont Company display photographs
E.I. du Pont de Nemours & Company is a chemical company more commonly referred to as the DuPont company. Defender Photo Supply, an early leader in the manufacturing of black and white sheet film, plates, printing paper and instructional books, was purchased by the DuPont Company in 1945. The DuPont Imaging Systems Plant, in Rochester, New York, manufactured photographic film and chemicals and ceased operations in 1995. This collection contains four display photographic prints made on DuPont Defender photographic paper. The views are all scenic and also included is an aerial photograph of the Rochester, New York plant of the DuPont Company's Photo Products Department.

The images are primarily of displays at the Wilmington, Delaware site, but also at other locations such as Atlantic City, New Jersey, New York City, New York, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Canada.
DuPont Fabrikoid portfolio, sales promotion and development illustrations
E.I. du Pont de Nemours & Company is a chemical company. In 1910, the DuPont Company purchased the Fabrikoid Company of Newburgh, New York, which had developed a textile coating process. This item is a portfolio of separate pages with two photographs per page placed in a folder made of blue Fabrikoid. The photographs illustrate Fabrikoid, a DuPont Company artificial leather material, used as upholstery and in a variety of commercial and residential interior applications.
Francis Bannerman Son photographs
Francis Bannerman Son was a major purveyor of military goods to sportsmen and collectors in New York City over three generations. The collection consists of miscellaneous photographs, negatives, postcards and ephemera pertaining to the weapons and military memorabilia business run by Francis Bannerman and to Bannerman's philanthropic and leisure activities.
G. C. Murphy Company store windows and interior photographs
G.C. Murphy Co. was a chain of discount variety stores. George Clinton Murphy (1868-1909) founded the G.C. Murphy Co. in 1906 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania. it grew to more than 500 stores before its acquisition by Ames Department Stores Inc. in 1985. These photographs document window displays at a G.C. Murphy store in Washington, D.C. In 1906.
Owl Drug Company album
Owl Drug Company was a chain of apothecary retail stores that sold drugs and patent medicines at a reduced cost. The company also sold candy, soda, Kodak film, stationery, cosmetics, perfumes, and other toiletries. The first store opened in June 1892 at 1128 Market Street, San Francisco, California, advertised as the "Drug Palace of the Pacific Coast." The album consists of images of displays of items sold in the drug store, specifically the 5th and Broadway location in Los Angeles, which opened for business on January 2, 1904. The 5th and Broadway location was the fifth store of the company. The photographs are countertop and shop window merchandise displays. A few images consist of print advertisements and operational charts.
