Scope and Contents:

Indexes to folders of documents related to lease financing agreements between MCI and Emerson Finance Company, under which several participants refinanced and extended the terms of the lease-financed purchase of digital switching, transmission and multiplex equipment from MCI by The Connecticut Bank and Trust Company N.A. [Connecticut BTC], which equipment had then been leased back to MCI. Funds for the original lease-purchase had been provided by Emerson Capital Corporation and a group of lenders including the Japanese companies IBJ Leasing Co. Ltd. and Kawasaki Enterprises Inc. with Swiss bank Banque Paribas as agent. Major participants in the refinancing agreement included Wilmington Trust Company as agent, General Electric Credit Corporation [GECC] and a number of major Wall Street brokerages. Index order is maintained in related files following, missing files are noted in the indexes. Folders D11, 12 and 13 are also missing; folder D22 is included; D31-D40 were removed as duplicates.
