A two-page description of the history and location of the house in which Sarah Poole was raised. Sarah Poole was William Bancroft’s mother. The envelope has a post mark of 1894 and handwritten notes by William Bancroft.
The Bancroft Mansion (Rockford, Delaware), 1868-1966
List of the owners: from Joseph Bancroft, through William, ending with John Bancroft, Sr. For a period of time (until 1988), the house was used as a restaurant. Subsequent to its vacancy, there was an attempt to convert it to living space. House dimensions, floor by floor, measured in cubic feet, delineating size of each room; and calculations of necessary radiator space, and a copy of a picture of the dining room when owned by Joseph and Sarah in 1865.
