Scope and Contents
Subjects include reporting to employees of individual levels of radiation exposure; AEC standards for protection against radiation and changes to same; possible contamination of timber and crops on land adjoining the SRP site; radiation exposure advice to be given to AEC and contractor employees (including a draft of a paper on the subject); information on training programs relating to radiation exposure; and the death of an employee at Los Alamos in 1958 due to excessive radiation exposure. Enclosed are a staff report of the Federal Radiation Council, "Background Material for the Development of Radiation Protection Standards" (1960); a draft of a chapter called "Radiation Exposure Reports" from an AEC General Administration Manual, Health and Safety section; and a report for the AEC for the year 1959 called "The Effect of the Savannah River Plant on Environmental Radioactivity".
