Subjects addressed include location (including site characteristics) and reactor design for SRP; initial organization of the AED from the Explosives Department; the basic outlines of Du Pont's contract with the government for the construction and operation of SRP; the department organizational structure for SRP; functions of particular departments, technical assistance from other sites; medical facilities at SRP: security considerations in building design at the site; the organization and functions of tne Wilmington Area Office; control of traffic within the area of the SRP site; relations between the Technical and Manufacturing Divisions; severance pay; the Girdler Corporation, particularly their part in the design and construction of the Dana plant in Indiana and some proposed work for Atlas power; reworking of heavy water in an SRP 400 area; disposal of contaminated equipment at SRP; the preparation of special incident reports; SRP's relation to industrial development and the community in Aiken, S.C.; and the "Berkeley Plan". Enclosed are directions for the preparation of an SRP history; the 1954 Progress Report for the Technical Division; several policy letters on technical standards and division responsibilities; a 1962 report on "Control of Processes in the AED"; and a 1963 report prepared by the SRP operations office called "Economic Impact on Communities Near the Savannah River Plant.
