Correspondence and enclosures from Kruesi as Director of the Manufacturing Division. Subjects discussed in the correspondence include reactor staffing; safety procedures at SRP; cleanup efforts at Three Mile Island; preliminary design of the Defense Waste Processing Facility at Savannah River; comments by Kruesi on a 1983 proposal by International Fusion Industries for a fusion reactor; comparison of Salem River and Savannah River automatic shutdown systems; breeder reactors; and re-evaluation of the SRP contract in discussion with DOE and BPA officials. Other materials include a draft of the initial proposal for the Defense Waste Processing Facility (hereafter DWPF); several speeches on safety at SRP and safety as a management issue given by Kruesi and by Irving S.
