Original deeds, many on vellum, for property transactions along the Brandywine Creek in Brandywine and Christiana Hundreds and in Wilmington and Newark, Del.; also deeds and other papers relating to a property dispute among the heirs of Timothy Steadman. The transactions involve many prominent landowning and milling families of the Brandywine Region, including the Canbys, Gilpins, Hollingsworths, Marshalls, Mortons, Prices, and Tatnalls, as well as the Steadmans.
