Scope and Contents:

Presented by the National Association of Manufacturers; staring William Remick as Kip and Don Ameche as narrator. In 1939, Kip leaves house to catch bus and train to get to work. On his way, he complains about the cost of things: newspaper, magazine, bus fare, rent, and living expenses, leaving little for education or savings. On the bus, he reads letter announcing his great-aunt had died and left him $8,000. Instead of going to work, Kip takes time to stroll around town and enjoy the thoughts of all he would do with that money. However, he falls asleep for twelve years, waking in 1951. Costs, on average, twice as much as 1939. Education feature on inflation. “We must depend on ourselves to save our country from disaster of inflation. Inflation is our fight.”
