Dates
- Creation: 1988-1995
Historical Note
Toaster was a code name for a company which demanded anonymity in its contractual agreement with RCA. Toaster hired RCA to develop a virtual reality video game system. The name attached to the project was "sliced bread" (as in "better than..."). The project took so long to develop and the retail cost to the public would have been so prohibitive that it was abandoned after $45 million was spent by Toaster. The client was later identified as Hasbro, Inc.
