From Ebay listing: "This salt bag may be attributed to the Baluch tribes of western Afghanistan. It measures 13 x 16 inches. The brown and ivory will is typical of one group of weavers who are identified as Taimani, a constituent member of the Chahar Aimaq confederation of tribes. The design is a dynamic one; the zig zag motif being not uncommon within the medium of flatweaves. It is seldom executes as the only design on a salt bag, but it is not unknown. The braided tassels hanging form the bottom of the bag are dyed in a vibrant red probably derived from madder root."

From Ebay listing: "This is an Afghani Salt bag used in villages. Its actual size is 1'2" by 1'3". The reverse side if a flat kilim, which the obverse is 100% wool, it has a nice geometric design with a dominate right red. The rug piece is around 25 years old. One end is open."
