Biographical / Historical

Cornell Williams (1959-) is an engineer for Hologic who began his career with GTE before being hired by DuPont. Williams was born in Jamiaca and at age thirteen, he moved to New York city and attended Camden County College and graduated with a degree in Applied Sciences in 1979. Following graduation he began his career and eventually took graduate courses at Rutgers University, Drexel University, and the University of Maryland. In 1985, Williams was hired by Hologic and worked on many projects including tomosynthesis and is currently involved in many upcoming products.

Scope and Contents

In this interview, Williams discusses his educational and life experiences that led him to work as an engineer for Hologic. Williams offers his views and beliefs on education, work, and life and shares some of the insights that he has gained throughout his career. Williams walks through the processes of creating and marketing a new technology and some of the key steps he has experience with including patenting, development, and working with doctors.
