Biographical / Historical

Georgia Hitzke (1945-) got a med-tech college degree at the University of Wisconsin and specialized in radiology. Due to this specialization, Hitzke received training in ultrasound and nuclear medicine. After graduating, Hitzke worked for the Mason Clinic and Radia Medical Imaging in Washington state. After moving to the east coast, Hitzke was hired as an applications manager at Lorad and then once Hologic bought the company she worked as a Product Manager. In this role at Hologic, Hitzke was responsible for buying equipment and setting up trainings for this new technology.

Scope and Contents

In this interview, Georgia Hitzke discusses her career in medical imaging and her time working for Lorad and then Hologic. Hitzke talks about some of the new technologies in medical imaging and some of the challenges working with this equipment. Within this, Hitzke focuses on the training aspect as a large part of her role at Hologic was setting up training sessions and workstations to teach employees about new imaging developments.
