Peter Lyons (b. 1942) was a marketing professional at DuPont.
Scope and Contents
In his interview, Peter Lyons details the complexity of the spunbonded textile fiber markets. He describes work being done at Pioneering Research Laboratory (PRL) and his transfer to Richmond to work in industrial beaming. He then describes his next assignment in direct sales in Akron, with the non-tire part of the business there. He also details his works as a Tyvek business strategist, in which he helped identify the thousands of end-uses in which this product was involved aside from house wrap. He also describes his role in direct marketing non-woven products. He also mentions his assignment as Asia Marketing Manager and his participation in joint venture negotiations that did not work out to DuPont’s satisfaction and were discontinued.
