Scope and Content

This group of material was originally an historical photo file/reference file encompassing the history of all divisions of Sperry, with a focus on UNIVAC. The group contains images of equipment manufactured by the various Sperry Corporation Divisions over the course of the twentieth century. The group as a whole constitutes a selective memory of the Sperry Rand corporate legacy, containing images used for various marketing and/or publishing endeavors. Although the creator of this group of records remains unidentified, it can be inferred that these images were assembled for a type of corporate identity exhibition. The Divisions represented in this group are: the Eckert-Mauchley Computer Corporation (EMCC), Engineering Research Associates (ERA), Sperry Gyroscope, Sperry Remington, Sperry UNIVAC, Sperry Vickers, and Defense Electronics.
