Biographical Note

William Frederick Lynch (b. 1864), the grandson of Irish and English immigrants, began working for DuPont at a young age, having worked previously in plumbing. His grandfather has been the boss cooper for the company.

Scope and Content

Interviewers: Norman B. Wilkinson and Joseph P. Monigle in Wilmington, Delaware

Lynch describes the opening of the Experimental Station, explosions that occurred during his working career, his job responsibilities, and his work on the volunteer fire company. He also discusses the company during World War I and his impressions of du Pont family members.
