Abstract

This small collection of du Pont family miscellany came to Hagley from Winterthur as an assortment of various family items that did not relate to their individual library holdings. The items, though extremely fragmentary, represent over two centuries of du Pont family history.

Scope and Content

The collection is a loose association of materials related to the du Pont Family. Of note is a listing of items found in the desk of E. I. du Pont as well as a receipt for dental work done on du Pont in 1824. The collection also includes a few pieces of correspondence, a translation of a 1776 letter written by Pierre Samuel du Pont de Nemours (1739-1817). Lastly, there is a recipe book kept by Wilhelmina du Pont Ross (1906-2000).
