Scope and Contents
NeighborWorks America, Center for Homeownership Education and Counseling. Course materials sponsored in part through a grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. This companion course to the Homebuyer Education Methods curriculum is a week long course that covers the new standards for post purchase programs. It focuses on topics that help both new and existing homeowners manage their most important asset. These topics include home maintenance and repair, financial management and budgeting skills, insurance, methods for getting homeowners more involved in their community, early intervention programs to prevent delinquencies and default, and the pros and cons of refinancing.
