Scope and Content
This subseries documents Saab vehicles in the United States. Prior to 1957, Saab vehicles appearing on American shores were privately imported. From 1957 onwards, Saab vehicles were officially imported to the United States by following Saab subisidiaries: Saab Motors, Incorporated (1957-1969) and Saab-Scania of America, Incorporated (1970-2010). From 2000 to 2010, Saab-Scania of America was also a subsidiary of General Motors. The official importation of Saab vehicles to the United States ceased in 2010. See also General Motors.
