This subseries documents De Tomaso Automobili S.p.A. of Modena, Italy. Founded in 1959 by Alejandro De Tomaso, the firm is best known for being a manufacturer of exotic sports cars and luxury cars. From 1971 to 1973 De Tomaso sold its Ford-powered Pantera sports car in the United States through Lincoln-Mercury dealers. Over the course of its business life, the firm has also been the owner of Innocenti (1975-1990) and Maserati (1976-1993), both of which were later taken over by Fiat S.p.A.
