Scope and Content
This subseries documents DeSoto vehicles exported and marketed by Chrysler Corporation's Export Division, which was based in Detroit, Michigan. The Export Division was responsible for the export and marketing of DeSoto vehicles built in the United States overseas. Some of the exported DeSotos were actually rebadged Plymouths and Dodges. The subseries is arranged alphabetically by publication type and thereunder chronologically. Formats include trade catalogs for specific models and trade catalogs for various models.
The trade catalogs for specific models include those for the DeSoto Airstream, Coupe Utility, De Luxe, Diplomat, Economie, Firedome, Powermaster, and Six. The trade catalogs for various models include those for various DeSoto cars. Materials are in English, Dutch, and French. See also Chrysler (Export).
