This subseries documents Adler, which was built by Adler Fahrradwerke vorm. Heinrich Kleyer AG of Frankfurt-am-Main, Germany (1900-1906) and Adlerwerke vorm. Heinrich Kleyer AG of Frankfurt-am-Main, Germany (1906-1939).
Adler was founded by Heinrich Kleyer and was for a short time the third largest German automaker behind Opel and BMW. The firm ceased production of cars in 1939, but continued to build military vehicles during World War II. After the war, Adler focused on the manufacture of motorcycles and office equipment, and its dealer network was absorbed by Volkswagen AG.
