This subseries contains correspondence pertaining to Federal motor vehicle safety standards violations. Enforcement casework details how the NHTSA handled cases of manufacturer noncompliance. This subseries includes letters of notification for safety standards violations, decision letters describing Federal actions taken against violators, civil penalty notices outlining fees for safety violations, and settlement notices documenting the conclusion of each noncompliance case.
