Scope and Content

This subseries documents Pan Am (Pan American World Airways). It is arranged alphabetically by publication type and thereunder chronologically. Formats include clippings, oversize clippings, a fleet catalog for a specific airplane, general publications, a menu, passenger information, research notes, route maps, a serial, souvenirs, a speech, and timetables.

The clippings include Pan Am magazine advertisements and newspaper articles about the airline. The oversize clippings include oversize Pan Am magazine and newspaper advertisements, and oversize magazine and newspaper articles about the airline. The fleet catalog is for Pan Am's Boeing 707 Jet Clipper airliner. The general publications include service guides, travel guides, and a 1969 company annual report. The menu includes is one for a meal served on a Pan Am flight. Passenger information includes a catalog for Pan Am's Clipper Class accommodations.

The research notes include two copies of typed notes about Pan Am's proposed "Big Ship" airliner. The route maps include maps of Pan Am's international air routes. The serial is a June 1956 issue of the Pan Am company periodical Clipper Travel. The souvenirs include a time selector, a certificate for Pan Am's inaugural flight to St. Lucia, and a bumper sticker of Pan Am's Airbus A310 airliner. The speech is a 1941 address to the Royal Aeronautical Society delivered by Pan Am president Juan Trippe. The timetables include schedules for Pan Am's international flights. Most materials are in English, but the menu is in French.
