Biographical note
Raymond J. Holden (1901-1993) was a watercolor artist based in Sterling, Connecticut, who specialized in classic New England scenes. Holden provided illustrations for ten books. He also worked for the Works Progress Administration Index of American Design, contributing seventy-seven color plates between 1936 and 1937.
