Biographical note
John Taylor Arms (1887-1953) was an etcher and graphic designer. During the 1920s and 1930s, he specialized in a series of etchings of Gothic churches and cathedrals in France and Italy, using sewing needles and magnifying glasses to achieve a fine level of detail. His work was also part of the painting event in the art competitions at the 1932 Summer Olympics.
