Scope and Contents

This subseries consists of materials related to several pamphlet series produced by Catalyst during the 1970s and 1980s. The pamphlets were aimed at women, both entering and returning to the workforce after having children. Topics include general career preparation and job-search strategies, as well as detailed descriptions of a variety of career fields and the potential barriers facing women in them. The pamphlets were likely used in conjunction with Catalyst National Network activities, as well as other outreach efforts. This subseries is arranged chronologically by edition. It includes two albums of early career factsheets (possibly drafts), circa 1971; the Self-Guidance Series (two volumes; 1973); the Education Opportunities Series (eleven volumes; 1973); the Career Opportunities Series (twenty-seven volumes; 1973, 1975, and later editions); the Career Options Series for Undergraduate Women (at least thirteen volumes; 1975, 1976); and the Catalyst Career Opportunities for Women Series (forty-three volumes, 1980s). The subseries also includes the report, “Undergraduate Women and Career Planning” (1976) and a Resume Preparation Guide (sixth printing, 1983, copyright 1976).
