Scope and Contents
The Financial records series contains financial records of the Quaker Lace Company and its hosiery division, the Quaker Hosiery Company, Van Pelt Realty Corporation, the Smoky Mountains Hosiery Mills, and other Bromley family companies. The series has been divided by record types including personnel records; budget, accruals, and other general financial records; summary reports; ledgers; journals; cash books; daybooks; accounts receivable and payable; cash summaries and disbursements; and records relating to the Quaker Hosiery Company liquidation and Van Pelt Realty merger. Personnel records contain hourly, weekly and piecework pay rates and include lists of pay, hire and termination information for selected employees. Information regarding Quaker's World War II production is contained in the renegotiation records in this series.
