Committee records, 1932-1980
Part of collection: National Association of Manufacturers records (1411)
Dates
- Creation: 1932-1980
Scope and Contents
The Committee Records series is primarily comprised of chronological files with minutes of both permanent and ad hoc committees including: Industrial Relations, Government Economy, Industrial Economics, Taxation, International Relations, Patents, Foreign Investment, Industrial Health and Safety, Antitrust, Supervisory Problems, and Agricultural Cooperation. Additionally, there are files from the Policy/Program Advisory Committee and Postwar Committee. Committee records describe lobbying and public relations campaigns from the 1930s through the 1990s.
The Postwar Committee files consist of articles and reports about taxes and postwar colonial trade policy, as well as NAM publications regarding postwar America. Some of the publications are studies from the Postwar Committee; the issues examined include the role of government, sales planning, rehabilitation and training, product development, distribution of goods and services, and women in industry. The records appear to have been used as a subject file on NAM’s postwar policy recommendations.
