Community Relations Department, 1944-1947
Part of collection: National Association of Manufacturers records (1411)
Dates
- Creation: 1944-1947
Scope and Contents
The Community Relations Department (part of the Public Relations Division) acted as a liaison between NAM and opinion-molders: farm leaders, clergymen, educators, women’s club leaders, and veterans. The department also worked closely with NAM regional offices and NAM committees that targeted these groups. Community Relations Department personnel published newsletters and pamphlets, wrote articles, held meetings, and provided speakers to promote NAM’s viewpoint to these groups.
The records in this series primarily consist of agendas and minutes for the various committees, outlines of procedures and materials for use in regional offices, and reports on departmental activities. Most of the Community Relations Department records in this section are missing for this period, 1944 to 1946.
