Scope and Contents
This series contains artifacts pertaining to the interior design work of William Pahlmann and his firm William Pahlmann Associates. Its contents consist mainly of interior design items intended for everyday use, including but not limited to china, silver plated flatware, table linen, and metal flower pot holders. This series also includes several model rooms and examples of miniature furniture, furnishings, and accessories which were constructed for design and promotional purposes. Most of the artifacts in this series were designed by Pahlmann and his firm. A handful of artifacts not designed by Pahlmann and his firm are found in this series as well.
The Artifacts Series provides insight into the interior design and business practices of William Pahlmann and his firm. Its contents reveal the extent to which Pahlmann customized his designs to suit the needs and tastes of his clients. The contents of this series also reveal that Pahlmann and his firm used high end materials to satisfy the demands of an affluent clientele.
