Scope and Contents

This series contains materials connected to Day’s committee and public service work. The Business Roundtable and precursor organizations subseries (subseries A) is focused on Day’s involvement with the Construction Users Anti-Inflation Roundtable and the Labor Law Study Committee which merged with the March Group in 1972 to become the Business Roundtable. The subseries contains correspondence, news clippings, meeting minutes, and reports that provide insight into Day’s actions as a member of the roundtable and the general activities of these organizations. The National Pay Board subseries (subseries B) focuses on Day’s role with the federal Pay Board. This series contains papers related to Day’s service on the board including article clippings, correspondence, and reports. The Other boards and committees subseries (subseries C) includes Day’s work with the Chamber of Commerce of the United States for which he served as chairman of the Labor Relations Committee. Also included are materials from his service on the United States Department of Labor’s Management Advisory Committee on Wage Stabilization and his service on the Apache Corporation’s Board of Directors.
