Pertains to various early controversies and minor suits in law of which the Company was a party, or which were of interest to the Company, consist of records of judgments by courts (1798-1809), correspondence and documents pertaining to the suit in law, Charles Munns vs. [E.I.] du Pont de Nemours & Co. (1808-1811), and the controversy with Thomas Ewell, of Washington, D.C., concerning manufacturing techniques and competition for governmental contracts (1811-1812).
