This series includes documentation connected to the company's creation including early proposals, business plans, statements of purpose, and correspondence related to the design, staffing, and expected costs of the original Wilmington laboratory. The series also includes correspondence and reports documenting the laboratory's early years--particularly the space and location problems that it faced in the Wilmington laboratory. George H. Gehrmann (1890-1959), Medical Director at E.I du Pont de Nemours & Company and Wolfgang F. von Oettingen (1888-1976), the first director of the Haskell Laboratory are prominent correspondants and authors in this series. Finally, the series includes one bound volume of lab reports titled Toxicology of Hydrazines, Chloroprene, Rhodanates, Thio-Beta-Naphthol, Nitriles, Amides, Naphthalenes, Methyl Methacrylate, Chloro-Benzenes, and Other Compounds: Published and Unpublished Toxicological Investigations Carried Out During the Years 1935 to 1937 in the Haskell Laboratory of Industrial Toxicology, Wilmington, Del. By Wilhelm Deichmann-Gruebler Assisted by Sara Wynne and Florenz Mitchel.
