Scope and Content

The audiovisual material in this collection represents the work of the David Sarnoff Research Center dating from circa 1940s to 2009. Containing roughly 79 films, 264 videos and 164 sound recordings, these materials document many of the scientists who worked at the lab and their research. Film in the collection are primarily 16mm (except for 3, 35mm film spools and 1 super 8 film), the video is made up of VHS, SVHS, U-Matic, Betacam SP and Digital Betacam videocassettes and audio recordings are on a variety of formats including reels, cassettes, DATs and phonograph records.

Several of the films and sound recordings have been digitized and it is noted if a surrogate exists.

Boxes M&A 127-846, M&A 1061-1064, and M&A 1283-1313 are stored offsite. Please contact the Manuscripts and Archives Department at least 48 hours in advance of research visit.
