Scope and Content
This subseries contains presentation boards of various interior design projects created by William Pahlmann and his firm. They are constructed from a variety of materials, including but not limited to photographs, drawings, clippings, fabric and vinyl upholstery samples, and wood samples. Most of the presentation boards were designed to provide visual documentation of several interior design projects as conceptualized during their design and planning stages, including those concerning the Gruen Watch Company offices in New York City and Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. This subseries also contains presentation boards depicting the end results of interior design projects completed by Pahlmann and his firm, including those concerning the Columbus Hotel in Miami, Florida and Paul Young's Restaurant in Washington, D.C. A significant number of presentation boards created as entries for interior design contests, including those designed by Pahlmann for the American Institute of Decorators' Seventh Annual Design Competition, are found in this subseries as well.
