The illustrations are either line drawings done in ink or graphite or are paintings done with watercolor or oil paints with ink and graphite details. All of the illustrations are black and white with some grayscale and silver accents. They are done on paperboard, art paper, tracing paper, poster board, and poster board on foam core.

The illustrations in this subseries are arranged sequentially according to the column in which they were used. A majority of the illustrations are labeled with the number and name of the column.
