"The Foxcatcher hounds pack was established by William du Pont, Jr., in 1912 and recognized in 1926 as to its present country which includes the upper half of Cecil County, Maryland, adjacent to Delaware and Pennsylvania. In 1936 the Foxcatcher Hounds Hunt Club was organized by the following: Alfred E. Bissell, John P. Bowditch, C. Canby Darlington, Morris H. Dixon, William du Pont, Jr., Carl H. Furr, Kemp B, Furr, John K. Garrigues, John W. McComb, Edmund C. McCune".

As an unincorporated club, it paid all received club duties and hunting fees to Foxcatcher Hounds, Inc. Money was collected in the account "C" of the Foxcatcher Farms, Inc. with the Delaware Trust Company, and account "B" was designated for expenses of the operation of the hunt club, except taxes. In 1941, "the Hunt Club and kennels... have passed from the hands of the Foxcatcher Club to Mr. du Pont Jr. personally" (letter to Conowingo Power Co., May 23, 1941 - Correspondence and Subject File.
