Biographical Note
Robert B. Hutchinson (1923-1972) worked for the Joseph Bancroft & Sons Company for fifteen years, including as manager of administration in the licensing division.
Hutchinson was born February 27, 1923, to Silvia Nolt Hutchinson (1906-1969) and John Hutchinson (1898-1988) in South Dakota. He graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1946 with a degree in electrical engineering, and in 1954 from New York University with a Master of Science in mathematical statistics. He was a well-known ham radio operator and Scoutmaster. In 1969, Hutchinson received the Order of Merit, the highest honor a Boy Scout district can give an adult.
Hutchinson moved to the Wilmington, Delaware, area in 1953 and worked for Joseph Bancroft & Sons Company. He then became a vice president of international marketing for the Hanes Corporation of Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
He died on September 6, 1972.
