Biographical Note
Emory P. Mersereau Jr. (1922-2004) joined Joseph Bancroft & Sons Company in 1956 and was named vice president for central operations of the licensing division in 1966.
Mersereau was born December 21, 1922, in White Plains, New York, to Marjorie Fimpel Mersereau (1897-1992) and Emory P. Merereau Sr. (1894-1947). He earned an engineering degree from Middlebury College and an MS degree from Purdue University. He taught physical chemistry at Purdue University for two years before joining Alexander Smith Inc., where he worked in various capacities, including that of a manager of product research and development.
In 1977, he founded and became president of EMC Process Company, an industrial coatings company in Newport, Delaware.
Mersereau died February 19, 2004, in Wilmington, Delaware.
