Scope and Content

11 Scrapbooks containing about 550 black and white prints documenting the construction of the Durant Building, known as the General Motors Building after William Durant's departure from the company, in Detroit, MI. The building was designed by Alfred Kahn as a headquarters for the General Motors Corporation, and at the time of its construction, was the largest office building in the world. Scrapbooks have been transferred to the Pictorial Collections Department of the Hagley Museum and Library
