Correspondence and business records related to formation and activities of an investment syndicate in the Cosden Oil Co., a petroleum extraction and refinement company operating in Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas and other states, headed by Cosden & Company founder Joshua S. Cosden, the preeminent figure in the history of the petroleum industry in Oklahoma. Partly as a result of declining revenues and state industrial regulations, Cosden Oil Co. went into receivership in 1931 and was reorganized as the Cosden Oil Corporation in 1932
