Biographical Note

Rosalie "Roz" Parkman (1937-) and John "Pete" Jakob Raskob III (1932-2008) are two of John and Helena Raskob's grandchildren. Parkman is the daughter of Elizabeth "Betty" and Timothy Parkman. Raskob is the son of John Raskob Jr. (1907-1981) and Minerva Aaronson Raskob (1910-2001).

Scope and Content

Interviewer: David Farber.

Interview location: Tucson, Arizona.

In the interview, Parkman and Raskob describe their early life and earliest memories of their grandparents. Raskob describes Pioneer Point's two houses: Mostley Hall and Hartefeld House. Parkman and Raskob remember swimming at Pioneer Point, Jack Corcoran, and reminiscence about memories of their grandmother. They discuss sailing, religion, the workers on the estate, and racial and religious acceptance. They recall their times at Camp Melody Pine, hunting, fishing and learning about the environment with Jack. They mention the plays the grandchildren put on for their grandmother, Skipper.
