John Edward Hansen (1917-2006) worked at the DuPont Company's Experimental Station for more than thirty years as a monofilament scientist, beginning in the early 1950s. He was best known for his work on the Stern fishing line. E.I. du Pont de Nemours & Company is a chemical company more commonly referred to as the DuPont Company.
