Scope and Contents:

The Seagram Building (375 Park Avenue) series is comprised of the following three subseries:

Subseries A. Construction and Development Files, 1954-1956

This subseries contains building specifications at the general and detail levels; Samuel Bronfman's file regarding property acquisition and other legal matters; Ellis Slater's "Skytop" project file regarding preliminary plans for the building including a memo about the possibility of hiring Frank Lloyd Wright; files of the project manager regarding construction; change orders; and work orders.

Subseries B. Financial Records, 1954-1965

This subseries contains field reports; requisition statements from the builder George A. Fuller Co.; statements from commercial realtor Cushman & Wakefield, Inc., and other financial records.

Subseries C. Miscellany, 1957-1958

This subseries includes staff orientation booklet "Our New Home...375 Park Avenue Headquarters of the Seagram Companies," a postcard of the building and an advertisement for the temperature control system.
