Biographical Note

Dr. Paul Arthur, graduate of M.I.T and later research chemist with E.I. du Pont de Nemours & Company, was the inventor of Crolyn, a type of magnetic tape used in sound and video recording. The product was the result of a great deal of research using magnetic materials and magnetism. The new tape, containing chromium dioxide, provided an improvement in both output and resolution over the earlier iron dioxide tapes. The technology was sold in 1975 to a firm in the Soviet Union.
