International Business Machines Corporation (IBM) became a giant in the field of electronic data processing by the mid-1950s after having achieved great success in the punch-card tabulating machine business in the 1930s. IBM had an image as offering superior products at a lower price than their competitors. IBM customers were portrayed as loyal and satisfied with the service provided by “Big Blue”

Scope and Content

This is a sales film for IBM about the history of information technology. New devices are now developed that make them easier for humans to interact. The integration of device control and line control can provide the new systems network architecture to connect on shared lines. LSI production allows new devices to distribute network function. Local storage is introduced. Production continues when host is unavailable.
