Abstract

The New York World’s Fair of 1939 was held in Flushing Meadows on Long Island between April 30, 1930 and October 31, 1939. This small collection consists of three official postcards of the 1939 New York World's Fair.

Historical Note

The New York World’s Fair of 1939 was held in Flushing Meadows on Long Island. The Fair opened on April 30, 1930 and closed on October 31, 1939. More than 200 buildings were constructed to house exhibits from approximately 60 countries. The New York World’s Fair was attended by over 44 million people.

Scope and Content

This small collection consists of three official postcards of the 1939 New York World's Fair. One of the Hotel Imperial, "Greetings from New York World's Fair" and an Official Postcard folder containing ten postcards with images on both sides.
