Historical Note

Wilmington is the largest city in Delaware located on the Christiana and Brandywine Rivers. Originally colonized by the Swedish, Dutch and English in the seventeenth century. Wilmington was incorporated in 1731 and received a city charter in 1832.

Scope and Content

Postcard views of miscellaneous sights in and around Wilmington, Delaware. They include two views of Brandywine Springs Park, statues and monuments, a mill race, Public School 24 and Wilmington High School, Eden Hall and the Union National Bank, and the "Brandywine," a Wilson Line ship.
