The Ann Hillyard in this contract might be Ann Hillyard (1824-1895) who married Richard Watkins (1799-1878), but it is not confirmed. This item is a photostat copy from microfilm of Ann Hillyard indenture to Alan Wood (1800-1881). Wood operated Alan Wood Iron and Steel Company in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania.

E.I. du Pont de Nemours & Company is a chemical company more commonly referred to as the DuPont Company, established in 1802. The Secretary’s Offices was raised to departmental rank on June 1, 1947. The Secretary’s Department was merged into the Legal Department on January 1, 1974. The records are a small sample of contracts and agreements filed in the Secretary's office. The larger agreements deal with the purchase and sale of entire business units or the licensing of technology.
Pierre Samuel du Pont de Nemours letters
Pierre Samuel du Pont de Nemours (1739-1817) was a French political economist, writer, publisher, and public administrator. In 1800, accompanied by his sons, Victor Marie du Pont (1767-1827) and Eleuthère Irénée du Pont (1771-1834), he arrived in America. Du Pont de Nemours and his sons established the commission house of Du Pont de Nemours, Père et Fils & Cie. in New York. In 1800, Victor Marie du Pont established a trading company, Victor du Pont de Nemours & Co. This small collection consists of two letters regarding finances of business affairs.

For more than fifty years, the Radio Corporation of America (RCA) was one of the country's leading manufacturers and vendors of radios, phonographs, televisions, and a wide array of consumer and military electronics products. This item is a recording contract between Pedi and RCA Manufacturing Co. for six recorded selections.
