Biographical Note
Cyrus Jewett Sharer was born in 1922 and was the Chair of the Geography Department at Villanova University. His primary research interest was in the economic geography of the world steel industry and the global iron ore trade, with an emphasis on the American steel-making complex centered on the Northeast and Midwest and the Great Lakes iron ore deposits.
